MMA Star Dan Henderson Retires

danOne of mixed martial arts royalty, the all American Dan Henderson has announced his retirement after his last bout at UFC 204.

A sure lock to be inducted into the UFC hall of fame, Hendo as he goes by, formally made the announcement after losing a very close decision fight to Michael Bisping. Unfortunately the California native could not finish the last couple rounds as strong as he started the fight and the judges gave the nod to Bisping.

Even though he lost his last fight, Dan walks away from the sport as a true champion, having held both UFC and Pride belts in different weight classes. This doesn’t include his enormous achievements as a wrestler, even competing in the mid-90s for the USA Olympic wrestling team. Will Hendo go into coaching and stay in the sport? Only he has the answers but he will surely be successful at whatever he does.
